The purpose of this book is to present a brief overview of the history of Ukraine from ancient times to the present with the help of text, put around forty-six historical maps. Thus, this book will be useful to other readers as a short introductory story, and to others as a historical atlas, an appendix to other publications about Ukraine. Unlike most studies of the history of Ukraine, this book uses a territorial or multicultural approach. Since Ukrainian land is inhabited by different peoples, their histories and cultural achievements constitute the Ukrainian historical process, and events involving Crimean Tatars or Poles, Russians or Germans, Greeks or Jews are part of Ukrainian history if they took place within modern Ukraine.
