In the proposed book, the authors make an attempt to highlight the history of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. Along with well-known facts, little-known archival materials are presented here that make it possible to trace the process of the emergence and development of the Pechersk Monastery. The essays highlight the activities of the first Pechersk ascetics, and the monastery is shown as the center of religious and spiritual life in all its diversity. The book also tells about the creation and development of the Kyiv-Pechersk State Historical and Cultural Reserve. Particular attention is paid to the problems of restoration and restoration work.
