The publication offered to the reader was prepared on the basis of the materials of the International Scientific Conference organized by the Russian Military Historical Society and the Victory Museum. The articles are devoted to topical problems of the history of World War II, including the history of the confrontation between the USSR and Japan on the eve and during the Second World War, the defeat of the Japanese aggressor during the Manchurian strategic offensive operation and the Liberation Mission of the Red Army in the Far East in 1945.
