Specific features of sunflower seeds as an object of drying are described, data on properties of sunflower seeds, peculiarities of its structure and composition, which are important for theoretical and practical justification of structural and regime parameters of grain dryers, are given. An overview of the works devoted to the main design shortcomings of recirculation and mine grain dryers in relation to drying sunflower seeds is given, recommendations are given to eliminate these shortcomings and improve the quality of drying. Technological schemes for drying sunflower seeds in both recirculation and shaft grain dryers are given, test results of reconstructed grain dryers, their technical and economic indicators are given, drying modes are justified.
