For more than a hundred years, Russia has been a giant white spot in the history of dinosaurs. Much prevented the search and study of the remains of Russian dinosaurs: the lack of specialists, the geological history of the region, the remoteness of promising locations. Dinosaur finds were limited to a few bones, and only in the last twenty to thirty years the situation has changed dramatically and dramatically. Five large and important locations in the world were found. Some discoveries became a scientific sensation: the remains of the oldest feathered dinosaur, the richest and most diverse mammaliaform fauna of the mid-Jurassic period, were mined in Russia, a huge region was discovered where evolution practically stopped during the time of dinosaurs.
