In an accessible form, in the form of textbooks, the heraldic code in the 18th century spread throughout many European countries, with the most clear and systematic manuals serving as peculiar standards for the creators of emblems. Such was the heraldic manual of Professor of the University of Gottingen I.K. Gatterer "Essays on Heraldry," which was published in the second half of the eighteenth century in Germany and received recognition in the European heraldic world. This, indeed, a very clear and capacious manual called "Outline of Herbology" was translated at the very beginning of the 19th century by G. Malgin into Russian. The book contains detailed information on the structure of the coat of arms, coat of arms and the rules for describing the arms and was prepared as a reference for compiling the Stamp of the noble families.
