Vasily Petrovich Stasov - Russian architect of the XVIII-XIX centuries. At the beginning and middle of the 18th century, domestic architecture was created mainly by foreign architects. By the end of the century, Russian talents entered the art scene, including Stasov. Interestingly, the creative face of Stasov, who is unconditionally perceived as a St. Petersburg architect, is largely formed by Moscow. The master's major works: restoration of the interiors of the Winter Palace after a fire, construction of the Trinity Cathedral, major reconstruction of the Transfiguration Cathedral and completion of the ensemble of the Smolny Monastery.
