The first part of the tutorial covers the physical foundations of the formation of power consumption modes. Relevance and possible methods of power consumption management are shown. The second part gives the concept of the term "design load." Mathematical model of electrical loads is given. Methods for determining design loads of elements of city power supply systems are considered and illustrated by examples.
