In addition to two famous stories by Mikhail Afanasevich Bulgakov, "Fatal Eggs" and "Deviloliad," the book includes his story "No. 13. The House of Elpit-Rabkommun," the feuilleton "The Adventures of Chichikov," as well as an article published in 1928 by journalist Pyotr Pilsky, which discusses Bulgakov's ironic fiction. The texts are illustrated with drawings by contemporary artist Tatiana Kosach.
