The directory describes the organization and structure of state security agencies in 1941-1954: NKGB-MGB, NKVD-MVD, counterintelligence SMERSH and the Information Committee; about 2,000 heads of divisions were named, for 1308 of them biographical certificates, track records and photographs are published. The directory is based on materials from state and departmental archives. The book is intended for historians, students of humanitarian universities, all interested in the history of the punitive bodies of the USSR.
