Experienced opera is too honest and cynical. He did not fawn over his superiors or advance his career. For decades of service, he made only an ulcer and Khrushchev on the outskirts of the city. The wife left, unable to withstand the competition with work. In a fight with a criminal, Andrei dies, but fate gives him a second chance. The major's consciousness is transferred to the distant 1978 in the body of an ordinary Soviet high school student who is going to enter the medical institute. All roads are open. Life can be lived differently. But Andrei again chooses the path of a police officer. He wants to pass it again, without mistakes and defeats. But it turned out that getting a job in the police during times of stagnation is not so easy. And somewhere nearby lives a ten-year-old boy, from whose hand he died in 2022.
