Historical Azerbaijan played a very significant role in the development of regional and global geopolitics, and at some stages even influenced the course of world history. The interests of great powers, various global and regional actors have always intertwined and collided here. The creation of a new Azerbaijan in Transcaucasia was also the result of global geopolitical trends and calculations of the great powers, which had a rather profound impact on the regional and world geopolitical alignment.
