Hans Gunther's book explores the work of the outstanding Russian writer Andrei Platonov (1899-1951). On the material of the entire corpus of Platonov's works, the transformation of his worldview was considered, special attention was paid to Platonov's place in the world tradition of utopian thinking and the genre of utopia and dystopia. The connections and roll calls of the prose writer's work with his predecessors have been traced - from medieval mystics to F. Dostoevsky, N. Fedorov and other Russian philosophers. At the same time, the writer's work is analyzed in the context of contemporary culture. The book summarizes the results of numerous previous works of H. Gunther on the work and worldview of A. Platonov.
