Borisov, Vladimir Alexandrovich, - researcher of the Shui region (1809-1862); self-taught, born in the Vladimir province in an old merchant family. Interest in antiquity was developed in it by Polevoy's Moscow Telegraph and acquaintance with a local archaeologist, Prot. Diev. In 1846, he opened his own small gum factory, the income from which existed all his life. In the early thirties, Borisov began collecting old letters and other objects of antiquity. In the "Acts of History," published in 1835, they were informed of about hundreds of acts he had collected. Since 1837, he began to place a lot of archival material in the Vladimir Provincial Vedomosti.
