After the turbulent 1917 and the Civil War, a significant number of Russian people were forced to leave their homeland forever. Many have found a new home in the Balkans. The study is based on extensive and often for the first time introduced into scientific circulation statistical and documentary materials that clearly show the real tragedy of the existence of the Russian diaspora as a unique social layer and cultural and psychological phenomenon of Russian society.
