The textbook, in accordance with the university program, sets out the basics of geotectonics - the science of movements and deformation of the lithosphere, its origin and development. The book contains material on modern and ancient areas of high tectonic activity associated with continental and ocean rifting, with the movement and collision of lithospheric plates. Methods of geotectonics are considered. Principles of tectonic mapping are described.
