The book of the writer, ethnographer, folklorist and historian S.V. Farforovsky, who was shot in 1938 by "valiant Chekists," includes two stories about primitive people - "Ladoga Hunters" and "Glacier Man." The publication also includes the cycle "From the Diary of an Ethnographer" ("In the Steppe," "Chechen Studies," "Folklore of Kalmyks"), some Caucasian legends collected by Farforovsky and essays "Shahsey-Vakhsey" and "Mysterious Sects."
