The purpose of this work is to consider the historical figure of Beria L.P. as a statesman of the Soviet Union. This definition of the purpose of the study does not entail a chronologically consistent presentation of Beria's biography, but an attempt to objectively study his work over the 15 years during which he was in the highest echelons of state power, in various leadership positions and carried out the most responsible instructions of the Communist Party and the Soviet government.
