The work contains materials that allow an employee of low qualifications to quickly determine the type of defect under consideration, the cause of its occurrence and the most likely method of elimination. For the first time, a matrix method is used to determine the most likely causes of defects, created on the basis of many years of analysis of the causes of defective castings in production conditions.
