The book of memoirs of Viktor Pribytkov, who went from a peasant boy to the assistant general secretary of the CPSU Central Committee, can be called an emotional document of the Soviet era. Not succumbing to the temptation of denigration, which many memoirists writing about that time sin, the author makes us remember the best features of Soviet civilization.
