Two books of the famous Romanian historian and cultural philosopher Mircea Eliade - "Yoga. Immortality and Freedom" and "Patanjali and Yoga" - illuminate the most important component of Indian culture - yoga - in its theoretical and practical aspects. They contain translations of many fragments of original texts, which are very rare in our country or have not been translated into Russian at all. "Patanjali and Yoga" (first author's edition - 1965) is published in Russian for the first time.
