The book is devoted to an interesting problem - the analysis of the content of works of art of the Scythians. Based on the ancient religious and mythological texts of Rigvsda and Atharvavsda of the Indo-Arisv and Avesta of the Iranians, the author reconstructs the mythology of the Scythians and shows that the features of mythological thinking explain the specifics of the Scythian animal style, images and compositions of their art. The book also addresses issues of the semantics of Bactrian art and the influence of the Bactrian art school in the steppes.
