This monograph is one of the few publications devoted to the problems of financing theaters. For the first time in a systematic form, it presents a qualitative analysis of the processes of public administration in the field of theatrical activity in a retrospective and modern context. Regulatory regulation and methodological approaches to financing are highlighted in the historical development of theatrical business in order to emphasize the continuity of the policy of managing the industry, the prevalence of attitudes towards extensive growth of indicators and regulation of processes that cannot be standardized. All types of standards that have ever been applied in the activities of Soviet and Russian theaters are considered in detail. The monograph summarizes the results of the author's research over the past ten years (2011-2021), taking into account the sectoral specifics, the results of the budget reform were taken into account, the features of the formation of a system of state and municipal tasks for organizations operating in the field of theatrical art were investigated.
