Lev Nikitovich Pushkarev (born. in 1918) - a famous historian, doctor of historical sciences; specialist in the history of Russian culture, socio-political thought, ethnography, folklore, source study and archeography. In October 1941, during the Battle of Moscow, he went to the front; went through the war as part of a chemical defense battalion, ended it in Germany, was demobilized in December 1945. Throughout the service, he collected folklore that existed at the front and in the rear units. The book "On the Roads of War. Memoirs of a front-line folklorist."
