The book for the first time brings to the attention of the reader Karaite historical chronicles from Chufut-Kale during the period of the accession of the Crimean peninsula to the Russian Empire. These texts, translated by the author from Hebrew, narrate both the events of the conquest of Crimea by Russian troops and the situation of the Karaite community in this turbulent era. They reflect the worldview, values and view of the history of chroniclers, representatives of traditional Karaite culture before their communities underwent modernization processes.
