The struggle for air supremacy is primarily a MOTOR WAR. The experience of the Second World War showed that it is the superiority in speed that is the decisive factor in air combat, and the lag of the USSR in engine building has become the main "Achilles heel" of our Air Force in the Great Patriotic War. The whole history of aviation is a fierce BATTLE FOR SPEED, which means for the power of aircraft engines, rightfully considered the pinnacle of technology and proof of the state's scientific and technical viability.
