The book is devoted to ancient astronomy, meteorology and cosmology. The Translations section publishes three ancient astronomy textbooks - Introduction to the phenomena of Gemin, the Doctrine of the circulation of the celestial spheres of Cleomedes, and the astronomical section of the Exposition of mathematical objects useful for the study of Plato Theon of Smyrna. The section Studies discusses in detail ancient methods for measuring time and distances to celestial bodies, as well as ideas about the sphericity of the Earth in antiquity. Special attention is also paid to ancient meteorology and the development of cosmological ideas in ancient philosophy.
