Our Russian literature has not yet had any complete and publicly available essay on the period of great discoveries, and those wishing to get acquainted with it had to turn either to individual monographs or to foreign sources - that is why we allow ourselves to hope that the proposed book is prof. S. Gunther will be welcomed by everyone interested in geography.
