The educational publication, written on the basis of an introductory course of lectures for students of the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys, outlines in accordance with the curriculum various methods and schemes for sampling natural and technical materials used in metallurgical production. Issues of decomposition of materials, as well as methods of separation of components and concentration of trace impurities for their subsequent quantitative determination are discussed in detail.
