The book is dedicated to the largest event in the class struggle of Russia in the first half of the 18th century - the peasant war of 1707-1709. Significant attention is paid to the biography of its leader Kondraty Afanasevich Bulavin. On the basis of various documents, the authors show him as a recognized leader of the uprising, an outstanding personality, an exponent of the interests of not only the Don Cossacks, but also the broad masses of the oppressed peasantry. The book can be used in history lessons of the USSR and in extracurricular activities.
