This publication is aimed at familiarizing wide readership with the art of Wanderers - artists who were members of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions. It was founded in St. Petersburg in 1870 and united artists of the democratic direction, orienting their works to the mass audience. The Wanderers promoted Russian realistic art by organizing traveling exhibitions in different cities. In preparing this album, the publishing house used text and illustrative material from the 1989 book by F.S. Roginskaya "Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions. Metric essays."
