Among all periodicals published by United Nations organizations and specialized agencies, the UNESCO Courier has always been the first in terms of the number and diversity of its readers. So in 1988, the American journalist Sandy Koffler, the founder and first editor-in-chief of the publication accompanying UNESCO in all its actions since 1948, spoke about the Courier. Over time, the Courier has changed significantly, both in terms of content and format. However, the publication has always remained true to its first and main mission: to uphold the ideals of UNESCO, to serve as a platform for intercultural dialogue and a platform for international debate.
