Among the outstanding Soviet intelligence officers, Nikolai Kuznetsov stands apart. Until now, many episodes are not even his professional activities, but simply lives remain completely unexplored or almost unexplored: the stamp of secrecy interferes, or even just the absence of any documents. Bearing many different operational pseudonyms and other people's names, considered a nugget scout and turned out to be a professional agent of first counterintelligence, and then NKVD intelligence, Nikolai Kuznetsov is more of a legend created by many researchers, historians and eyewitnesses.
