The new book of the famous historian is devoted to the study of various aspects of relations between the Church and Soviet power in the tragic period of Russian history. Starting with the Lenin decree on the separation of the Church from the state (its perception by contemporaries is the topic of the first section of the book), the Soviet government conducted systematic work to destroy the Church. A special role in this was intended for the renovationist movement.
