The publication is dedicated to a unique natural object - the Aral Sea, which practically disappears from the face of the Earth before the eyes of one generation. The book provides a description of it before it began to dry out (1960) and reflects the efforts of the countries of Central Asia and the international community to reduce socio-economic and environmental damage as a result of this process.
