There has never been such a tough and truthful book about the Afghan war. Its authors - writer, journalist Gennady Valentik and a participant in the events described, now a politician, lawyer Sergei Skripnik - first talk about what until now was known only to a narrow circle of initiates, about the military operations of one of the special forces groups of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Soviet Army. During training missions, units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the KGB, and the army hunted them like wolves. They had the right to kill. They had no such right. They were taught to fight, and taught. A group of sixteen destroys 120 accompanying mujahideen caravan. And none of the sixteen is killed or wounded.
