The book is dedicated to the oldest architectural monuments of Moldova - the same age as the famous Egyptian pyramids - mounds. It fascinatingly tells about the appearance of these grandiose structures of antiquity, about the history of their research, associated not only with scientists, but also with numerous adventurers and robbers of past centuries. Particular attention in the book is paid to the tribes of ancient cattle breeders who erected mounds, stories about unique finds discovered by Moldovan archaeologists in recent years. Of considerable interest is the reconstruction of some historical episodes and individual destinies of nomads. An important place in the book is occupied by the preservation of the historical landscape associated with the mounds, as well as stories about the complex and romantic work of archaeologists.
