The book "Searches and Discoveries on the Way to Truth" for the first time acquaints readers with the history of the houses of the first Moscow theater school, founded in 1809 by special decree of Emperor Alexander I. The book tells about endless moving and changing addresses, about the history of the buildings themselves and the stages of development of the Theater School and theater education in Russia, related to the historical events of that time, about the life of the pupils of the school. It is written on the basis of genuine historical documents and memoirs of the 19th and 20th centuries, collected over many years of work in the archives of Moscow and St. Petersburg, and suggests that this colossal, persistent and painstaking work is a special type of documentary book.
