The publication includes unique documents on the history of Veliky Novgorod 1570-1590, the vast majority of which are first introduced into scientific circulation. For the first time, a set of documents of the Novgorod customs of 1571-1587 was published in full. including the oprichnya authorized customs certificate of 1571, the norms of which for a long time determined the procedure for collecting customs duties in Novgorod. The collection includes the case of the Novgorod order hut of 1574 on the arrival in Novgorod of the Volosh governor Bogdan Alexandrovich. The scribe description of 158586 of the Sofia side of Novgorod gives an idea of ​ ​ the topography of the city, the resettlement and occupation of the posad population, the economic state of Novgorod after the end of the reign of Ivan IV the Terrible. Of particular interest to the history of Novgorod are two notebooks of merchants, exchange and mortgage bondage of posad people to city courtyards, shops and anbars of 1590-1591, the texts of which contain detailed descriptions of buildings and plots of land.
