The approximate content of the discipline "Theory of mechanisms and machines" is presented on the basis of the curriculum for mechanical specialties and areas of university training. Lectures, methods of laboratory work and practical training on the course are presented sequentially. Examples of solving the problems of kinematic analysis and synthesis of mechanisms, explanations for performing computational and graphic works are given. The methodology for the course project on the topic "Kinematic and dynamic study of a machine with a slider-crank mechanism" was considered.
