The monograph consists of six essays, each of which presents an analysis of Brodsky's poems in interaction with each other, with the life and work of their author, his contemporaries and predecessors, their intertextual connections are exposed and patterns of cyclization are traced: 1. "Joseph Brodsky's Hundred Years War," 2. "Two "Christmas Stars" (about the structure of the chronotope and the versification system in the poems of the same name by Brodsky and Pasternak), "3. "Centrifugal Force of Strophics" (Sonetiana and Semistishia), 4. "Hamlet and Ophelia as lyrical heroes in Russian poetry of the 19th-20th centuries: from Nekrasov to Brodsky," 5. "Motion in Time and Space," 6. "Intertexts and Pastiches."
