The bibliographic index prepared by St. Petersburg Jewish University and the Russian National Library is a continuation of the well-known "Systematic Index of Literature on Jews in Russian," published in St. Petersburg in 1892. It contains over 6,000 bibliographic records, distributed in 136 headings. The objects of accounting in it are Russian-language publications devoted to various aspects of the life of Jews and published both in the Russian Empire and the USSR, and abroad. The index is the most complete of all existing bibliographic works of a similar subject. It is supplemented by generalizing articles on the history of the Russian-Jewish press.
