The basic physical prerequisites for the creation of valve electric machines and the use of an automated electric drive based on them are formulated. Steady and transient modes of valve-machine systems, methods of calculation of magnetic fields, parameters and energy characteristics of electromechanical converters, issues of calculation and simulation of electronic keys of valve and information circuits, analysis and synthesis of automatic control systems of electric drives with valve motors are considered.
