The basics of modern solid state physics are described in detail. Much attention is paid to the description and formation of the structure of solid crystalline and amorphous bodies, defects in the structure of solids, spectra of energy states in solids, as well as thermal, electrical, magnetic, optical properties of solids and superconductivity issues. The basic physical research methods used in solid state physics are summarized.
