In recent years, interest in the problems of chemistry of the middle and upper atmosphere has sharply increased, which is associated both with the growing public attention to environmental protection and with a deeper understanding of atmospheric photochemical reactions. The book outlines the chemistry of neutral, charged, and excited particles in the atmosphere. Much attention is paid to process kinetics and laboratory studies of typical reactions involving metastable particles. The main processes associated with contaminants are also considered.
