The work is devoted to the study of the spread of Islam in the Golden Horde in the XIII-XIV centuries. Based on the analysis of written, archaeological and ethnographic sources, issues related to the history of the penetration and rooting of Muslims among the urban and nomadic population of Ulus Jochi are investigated, as well as the features of the burial rite of the Golden Horde time are considered. Historical data is supplemented by an archaeological and statistical analysis of funerary monuments originating from the Volga region, the South Urals, and the North Caucasus.
