In domestic antiquity, this is the first monograph on how the Hellenic impulse developed in the culture of distant colonies that arose during Greek colonization and are in a new environment. "Hellas" and "Bosporus," two parts of the Hellenic world, are regarded here as its center and periphery, and in meaningful and semantic terms as "impulse" and "response."
