The book tells about the hostilities of Russian troops against the so-called manz, immigrants from China, who tried to manage in the Ussuri Territory in the 1860s. Among the many large and small armed conflicts in which the Russian army and navy had a chance to participate during the 19th century, the so-called Manzov War occupies a special place. Almost completely forgotten now, it hardly fits into the framework of existing classifications.
