Based on the literature and the authors' research, the book formulates theoretical ideas in the field of electronic theory of mutagenesis. From the standpoint of quantum chemistry, topical problems of the mechanisms of point mutations arising from tautomerism and ionization of nucleotide bases, tunneling proton transfer through DNA hydrogen bonds as a result of the action of various chemical agents, ultraviolet and ionizing radiation are considered.
