The book is dedicated to three outstanding offensive operations of the Red Army in 1944 - Korsun-Shevchenkovskaya, Vyborsk-Petrozavodsk and Belgrade. The defeat of German troops near Cherkess allowed Soviet troops to launch a decisive offensive to the west and southwest towards the borders of the USSR. The assault on the Karelian rampart significantly changed the situation in the northern sector of the Soviet-German front, predetermined Finland's withdrawal from the war. The result of the Belgrade operation was the defeat of the German army group "Serbia," the liberation of the eastern and northeastern regions of Yugoslavia with its capital Belgrade.
